are  always  at least 5 (including the dot)  different  characters.  IDNs are  always converted

into a  puny code (which always starts with  'xn--'  and always  consists of  a selection of the

characters present in that domain name) so that the DNS can process the domain name. The

valid characters for the DNS are the 26 Letters from the Latin alphabet (a-z), the 10 Digits of

the Arabic numerals (0-9) and 1 special character, which is the hyphen-minus (-). When

a domain name is registered, 1 dot (.) automatically appears as a punctuation mark

between the different levels, even if the dot is not one of the registrable

characters. For each subdomain added, another dot will

automatically appear.

Basically, all characters (including IDN characters)

that can be registered as domain names can be found among the existing 149,186 characters

listed in Unicode (which does not mean that all Unicode characters are registrable). Only 128 of

LDH domain names. Also each TLD / IDN TLD is subject to this rule,

logically, since it is always a fixed part of a domain name.

This order is the result when ASCII is applied in DNS. Note, it is not ASCII allone, it is ASCII
